My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me - holy is his name. His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.

Luke 1:46-50 (NIV)
A Word from Us

If you are familiar with social media, I am sure you are aware that in the world of these platforms, the term '#blessed' has become part of people's vocabulary, and 'feeling blessed' makes regular appearances as part of their posts. Using #blessed has become a way of rejoicing in those moments when everything is going well and all seems perfect in one's life!

However, the blessedness that Mary celebrates in Luke 1:46-50 stands in stark contrast to our culture's attitude. By our standards, Mary and her position do not look at all blessed. However, Mary praises God for choosing her to bear His Son, the Messiah, and her song magnifies the Saviour who loves the whole of His creation.

I see a parallel between Mary and what we have been called to do as Korus Connect. Like Mary, our trajectory has definitely been altered by God's calling on all of us. We have been given the amazing privilege of bringing Jesus' love and presence into people's lives. We feel a huge sense of gratitude to be used by God in this way!

I would urge you, no matter how many times you have heard this song at Christmas, to reflect on the relationship of love and trust that Mary enjoyed with God, a relationship that is available to all of us. Are you rejoicing in this, along with Mary?

Blessings for a peace-filled Christmas and New Year to you and yours.
