June 2019 Prayer Diary
The service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.
No doubt you have tossed a stone into a lake and marvelled at the ripple effect created by the splashing of the stone through the surface of the water. A whole series of ripples make their way towards the edges of the lake, all caused by that one action.
This reminds me of what God can bring out of the good that we do in response to His prompting. As you look back on God's faithfulness to you, can you see where God has multiplied what you did in obedience to Him? Times when you were unsure of an action, from a human point of view, but had a strong sense that this was what God wanted you to do? It may have been a word of encouragement or correction, a course of action or the command to wait. When have you lovingly journeyed with a person, prompted by God's love flowing through you?
God is able to create a ripple effect when we sow into the lives of those around us, motivated by a heart that is committed to Him. A heart ready to serve and honour God, creating a ripple effect of God's love, compassion and grace.
What kind of ripples are emanating from your heart? From our hearts?
