Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

Hebrews 13:16
A Word from Our CEO

During the Christmas period most people give gifts to each other, but when you think about it, what we are really doing is 'trading' gifts. Someone gives me something, so I give something comparable in exchange. To be honest, it feels uncomfortable just to receive without giving something back!

However, at the heart of Christmas is that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. Humbly born in a stable for our benefit and then ultimately giving His life for us on the cross. What sort of gift do we give in response to this? There is no possible balance that can be reached between us and God, because His gift was too great and precious.

When we consider His amazing gift to us, our only reasonable response is to give Him our all and to commit to honour Him in all that we are and do. We serve and sow into others - whether in giving time, money, prayer, presence or service. This is not to 'pay Him back', but rather to thank Him for such an inexpressible gift.

The wonder of the Christmas story is that Christ became like us so that we may become like Him - seeking Him first and approaching Him with humility and complete gratitude.

It's God's invitation to follow Him and know His forgiveness, transformation and hope - this and every Christmas and all the days between.

Thank you for sharing the prayer journey with us through 2018. May we each draw confidence from the fact that prayer changes things.

Praying every blessing for you and your family this Christmas.

Blessings,

Dawn Penney & the Korus Connect Team
