From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Do you ever find yourself imagining what our world would look like if we were to focus on working together as the body of Christ? I know I do.
Our tendency for division is natural to our sinful nature and this is why God inspired Paul to tell us to live in a manner worthy of the calling which we have received.
At Korus Connect we look to partner with organisations or individuals with the same mindset, so that unity may occur organically. Of course, we don't all think absolutely the same; we were created for and with differences for a reason. However, when we look at what we can do together, we can work towards the end result despite our differences.
Jesus takes fragments and blends them together to bring Him praise. He recruited tax collectors, Jewish revolutionaries, fishermen and others to be His followers. And down through the centuries Christ continues to call out people from varied walks of life. The apostle Paul tells us, 'He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.' Ephesians 4:16 (NLT)
Each of us needs to keep our eyes on the one Lord and our minds on the one faith; to seek unity and to do our part. Reaching:
Up - Seek God in prayer and reading His word
In - Allow the mind of Christ in you to look, see and serve the needs of others
Out - The community awaits the continued demonstration of Christian love and commitment to Christ as we serve.
I believe this is what it means to live a life worthy of the calling we have received.
